Will Joe the Plumber Become the Jared of Franchised Plumbing?

The final Presidential debate of 2008 made Joe the Plumber the most famous plumber in politics since the Watergate break-in.  Joe the Plumber is looking to run his own plumbing business, and John McCain pounced on his televised interview in which he questioned the effect Barack Obama’s tax plan would have on his business.

But lower taxes alone do not a successful business make.  If Joe’s concerned about the future viability of his plumbing business, he should consider the benefits of franchising.  As a plumbing franchisee with the right franchise system, Joe will gain the benefit of an established brand, co-operative marketing, refined systems, ongoing training and support.

Plus, you can bet your toilet tank that one or more of these plumbing franchises would waive Joe’s franchise fee just for the publicity of having such a celebrity as part of their chain.  There might even be an endorsement deal in there somewhere.  Will Joe become the Jared of franchised plumbing?
