McDonald’s sucks… but won’t let our babies do it!
Here’s one of the more creative (a breast of…?) attacks on America’s favorite scapegoat: McDonald’s!
A woman in Kentucky celebrated her state’s World Breastfeeding Month and the international World Breastfeeding Week by calling the police on her local McDonald’s.
A mother in Berea, Kentucky woman called the police Wednesday after she was asked to leave a McDonald’s restaurant because she was breast-feeding her 4-month-old.
The mother, Jessica Denny, thought the police would enforce a state law that prohibiting interferference with a mother breast-feeding in public. She was outraged when the Berea police officer threatened her with criminal trespass if she didn’t leave McDonald’s right away.
Later, the McDonald’s franchise owne, Sundae Park, apologized and issued a statement that: “It has never been our policy to ask nursing mothers to leave our restaurant. … I have taken the necessary steps to ensure this mistake does not happen again.”
That’s wasn’t enough for Jessica Denny who has demanded that the restaurant put a sign on its door saying that breast-feeding is allowed.
Happy World Breastfeeding Month! Happy World Breastfeeding Week!
The incident happened as Kentucky celebrates World Breastfeeding Month, and worldwide, public health officials are celebrating World Breastfeeding Week.
